Limits Reached

Building and Industry both have their own beauty. And even though they usually come at the cost of nature, they can also work well together with it. There are, however, limits to urbanisation. Limits that, for me, have now certainly been reached.

This is what I have tried to illustrate with this series of (extreme) panorama’s. Each panorama has been taken from a piece of nature (preferably a registered natural landscape) within an urban or industrial area. The waterway acts as a border.

Printed, the panoramas measure up to 420x35cm at full 300ppi resolution. A number of these panoramas have been exhibited at the Fotovakschool Amsterdam as part of the exhibition for the opening of their new building as well as the final exam exhibition for the study Photographic Design.
